Elliot Patterson
Vale Elliot Patterson
We are completely heartbroken to be mourning the loss of a very close friend of Trailrace. Elliot Patterson was an inspiration to many, and to lose such a kind, positive and talented person is absolutely devastating. We wish our deepest sympathies to Alexis and Elliot’s family and friends, and those who will miss the extraordinary man he was.
Elliot Patterson started riding at a young age and grew up riding at pony club and ag shows - winning the boy rider classes at both the Sydney and Brisbane Royal Shows. Elliot also represented in many disciplines as a young rider in interschool competitions with a show jumper called "Waga".
As a teenager on a family holiday in Germany, he found "Leandro". The pair built a wonderful partnership, with great results from Novice, training through the levels up to FEI. Elliot and Leandro were very competitive at national open competitions and international CDI-Y competitions.
They still hold the record at the Sydney CDI for the highest freestyle score in the CDI-Y class!
Elliot was Alexis's biggest supporter when she represented at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina in 2018.
Elliot campaigns quite a few quality horses, particularly in the Young Horse classes - keep an eye out for these superstars coming through the ranks! Elliot and Alexis provide coaching and training at their property and at various locations around Australia.
Elliot and his partner Alexis Hellyer have built, from the ground up, a reputable business at their property in Moggill, QLD with The Pines Performance Centre. offering a superior quality service to their clientele.
