Alexis Hellyer's family background has been involved with quarter horses and appaloosas, and by the age of 13, Alexis already had a passion for dressage and was competing at medium/advanced level on one of their appaloosas!
Alexis trained her warmblood "Waca W" as a young 4 year old and took him to Grand Prix - which is an amazing accomplishment in itself, let alone for someone so young at the time.
Alexis excelled at the CDI-Y levels with a super highlight as a young rider being placed on the reserve list for the Frankfurt FEI Young Rider World Cup.

Fast forward to 2018 - which was a massively successful year for Alexis, as she had only just begun her partnership with the impressive young stallion - "Bluefields Floreno". They competed at Willinga Park with excellent results, winning the trifecta - the Grand Prix, the Grand Prix Freestyle and the Grand Prix Special.

Their tour continued to Boneo Park, DJWTS and the Brisbane CDI and the beauty of their partnership reaped it's rewards, with one of the highlights of winning the Brisbane CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle.
With consistent scores of over 75%, they were able to qualify and represent Australia for the World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Tryon, North Carolina - an amazing achievement and experience for anyone, especially at the "ripe old age" of 29.
