About Veredus

Veredus is an Italian equestrian brand founded in the 1990s by Paolo and Ermanno, who grew up in an era when Italian design, style and quality defined how products were made. That philosophy runs through everything the company produces. Veredus develops and manufactures all of its boots in Italy, working closely with professional riders to test and refine every detail. The brand counts multiple Olympic gold medallists among its ambassadors, including Marcus Ehning, Steve Guerdat and Scott Brash, and regularly has six or more riders inside the FEI's top ten world rankings competing in Veredus boots. That level of adoption at the highest echelon of the sport speaks to the quality and trust the brand has earned.

Veredus Product Lines

Range of boots.

Carbon Gel Vento

The Carbon Gel Vento is the flagship of the Veredus range and the most searched Veredus product in Australia. These are front tendon boots and rear fetlock boots designed for showjumping, featuring a carbon fibre reinforced shell, nitrex gel shock absorption and the Veredus double ventilation system. Cool air is drawn in through the lower vents while heat escapes through the upper vents, addressing one of the biggest issues with traditional neoprene boots. Available in black and a range of colour editions including bordeaux, light blue, pink and ivory.

  • Front tendon boot with carbon + nitrex gel protection
  • Rear fetlock boot with anatomically shaped shell
  • Double ventilation to manage heat buildup
  • Colour editions for riders who want to coordinate their turnout

Olympus and Olympus Vento

The Olympus range offers absolute protection with an extended shell that covers both the tendon and fetlock zone in a single boot. The Olympus Vento adds the double ventilation system for improved airflow during intense work. These boots suit riders who want maximum coverage and are popular for training and competition at all levels of jumping.

Grand Slam

The Grand Slam is Veredus's gold edition boot, created to celebrate Scott Brash's historic victory in the Grand Slam of Show Jumping. It features the same carbon gel protection as the Vento line in a premium gold-accented finish. Available in front tendon and rear fetlock configurations.

E-Vento Cross-Country Boots

The E-Vento is purpose-built for eventing, combining lightweight construction with the durability needed for cross-country at speed over solid fences. These boots are designed to stay secure through water, mud and uneven terrain while still allowing airflow to manage heat. For riders competing under FEI rules, check individual listings for current approval status.

Absolute Dressage Boots

The Absolute range is Veredus's dressage-specific line, offering lightweight, breathable brushing boots that protect the cannon bone and fetlock without adding bulk. Available in elastic and velcro closure options, these boots are designed for flatwork, schooling and dressage competition where freedom of movement matters as much as protection.

Bell Boots and Overreach Protection

Veredus bell boots include the Light Safety and Carbon Shield models. The Light Safety is a lightweight triple-layer overreach boot available in multiple colours, while the Carbon Shield uses a carbon fibre construction for maximum durability. Both are designed to protect the heel bulbs and coronet band from overreach injuries during jumping and fast work.

What Sets Veredus Apart

Three things distinguish Veredus from other horse boot brands:

  • Double ventilation system - most Veredus jump boots use a microperforated AEROX neoprene inner layer combined with a 3D ducted mesh that channels heat away from the leg. Heat buildup is more damaging to tendons than impact in many cases, and Veredus addresses this directly in their boot design.
  • Advanced materials - carbon fibre shells, Kevlar fibre layers and nitrex gel shock absorbers are used across the range, drawing on materials science more commonly associated with motorsport and aerospace than equestrian equipment.
  • Save the Sheep lining - several models feature a synthetic sheepskin (techno sheepskin) inner that mimics real lambswool but shakes clean more easily, dries faster and retains its shape and softness over a longer lifespan. It's a practical alternative for riders who prefer a sheepskin look without the maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Veredus

Below common questions we get asked.

Where are Veredus boots made?

All Veredus boots are designed and manufactured in Italy. The company controls the full production process in-house, from shell moulding through to final assembly.

What size Veredus boots does my horse need?

Measure the circumference of the front cannon bone at the midpoint using a soft tape measure without pulling tight. Veredus provides a size guide that maps this measurement to their boot sizes. Most horses fit a standard horse size, with separate sizing available for ponies and larger horses.

What is the difference between Carbon Gel Vento and Olympus?

The Carbon Gel Vento is a dedicated tendon boot (front) and fetlock boot (rear) sold as separate pairs. The Olympus extends the shell to cover both the tendon and fetlock zone in one boot, offering broader coverage. The Vento versions of both add the double ventilation system for improved airflow.

Are Veredus boots FEI approved?

Many Veredus models comply with FEI regulations, but approval status can change and varies by discipline and age category. The Young Jump range, for example, is sized and weighted to meet FEI rules for young horse classes. Always check the individual product listing for current FEI compliance before competing.

What is Save the Sheep lining?

Save the Sheep is Veredus's synthetic sheepskin alternative. It looks and feels similar to real lambswool but is easier to clean, dries faster and holds its shape better over time. It's available on selected Carbon Gel Vento and other models as a "Techno Sheepskin" option.
