Tom McDermott
Tom has a solid equestrian foundation with his family. His mother Jennie grew up riding in pony club and riding at Sydney Royal, his sister Stephanie was a successful show jumper on the NSW Junior Squad team and his father Greg competed internationally and represented at the Seoul Olympics. It's no surprise that Tom had a talent for riding, but it was a surprise to his parents that at the age of 12, Tom won the Australian Junior Show Jumping Championship at Sale, Victoria in 2006.

Since his national title in 2006, Tom has claimed the National Junior Championship in 2008 and 2010, was declared National Young Rider Champion in 2010, named 2010 Equestrian Australia Young Rider of the Year and Equestrian Australia 2011 Young Athlete of the Year.

Most memorable riding moment?
Being the youngest rider in the world to win a World Cup at the age of 17. Competing in my First Nations Cup in 2016.
What would be your daily routine?
Start work at 5.30am. Manage the barn ride and give lessons all day until dark. We have around 80 horses to look after so a full-time job

What type of services do you provide?
I love giving lessons and training other people's horses for them, it's very rewarding seeing the finished product with the end of the day!
